Have the chance to buy either of these. The Prusa is used with some modifications. I would be able to get a Wanhao into NZ for about thr same price ($NZ550). Not experience with 3d printers but don’t mind tinkering. Would use for household printing and anatomy study. Which one should I go for?
I purchased a WanHao Duplicator 4 about 3 years ago. I use it in my Medical Design business. It has produced excellent ABS prototypes for nearly the entire 3 years I have owned it. I have had to replace the extruder mechanisms about 3 times. It prints nearly every day, so this is an excellent track record. It is easy to fix. There is now a local WanHao supplier of parts. This prevents the wait for parts from China. I really like WanHao and have not yet purchased their new I3. I will purchase one in the near future. I built a Mendel Prussa printer. It was very dependable also. Of the two choices I had, I will always go for a purchase of a WanHao over any other 3d printer. The only other printer I would currently consider, is a Monolith. The Monolith is manufactured in St. Petersburg Florida. The Monolith factory is a 15 minute drive from my business. The help and support that I have obtained from this company (for printers that they did not even make) also puts them at the top of my purchase list.
