Hello!

I have a 3D model desing for a whisky glass, but I don’t know if it’s possible to print transparent material? Wee need to print a whisky glass, so please if anyone can help us please contact me.

Have a nice day!

Hi,

we are able to print in a transparent material. It’s more expensive because of the material you would be using. We only offer Vero white on our Hub https://www.3dhubs.com/leicester/hubs/irongiant3d but offer the transparent on our website if you’d like to take a look.

Kind regards

Pozdravljen. Obstaja prozoren PLA filament, ki pa v praksi ni popolnoma prozoren, je bolj moten in rumenkast. Sam sem z njim delal in nisem bil prav zadovoljen. To so moje izkušnje glede tega. Lp J.

Below are some details of the material we use.

VeroClear RDG810

Is a rigid nearly colourless material featuring proven dimensional stability for general purpose, fine detail model building and visual simulation of transparent thermoplastics.

Both are ideal for glass, eye-wear, lighting covers and light-cases, visualisation of liquid flow, artistic and exhibition modelling and medical applications.

Kind regards

Nadia

Hello Yes we can print this model with clear resin with the highest resolution of 25 microns. Here is some examples of the 25 microns. Sunshine prototyping’s wood be more then happy to help you accomplish This task Thanks Sunshine prototyping’s

Colorfabb XT transparent comes to mind.

Really helpful adding images with prints as example, nice!

Is this what you’re looking for @Kranjec007?

Hello,
Even though filament manufacturers market their product as “transparent”, if you are looking for actual “transparency”(like glass) that’s unfortunately something no one here will be able to deliver(so far there is only on company that has achieved this through an extremely expensive proprietary process). The closest you will get are some of the more expensive SLA resins.
If translucent is what you are looking for, then that’s another story. I print translucent polycarbonate, PET, and colorfabb XT. Polycarbonate is by far the strongest but the other two tend to print more translucent. Regardless of material there are other factors that affect light transmission. The thiner the layers(higher detail) and thicker the walls(stronger) the more “cloudy” the final product will be.
I have a lot of experience with these materials so let me know if you need services or have any questions.
Hope that is helpful.
