I am trying to print a single piece of this track. I downloaded this off of thingiverse and can’t get it scaled down. I just want a single straight track piece without a column attached to it.

cut it down in Meshmixer, from 1:00

Hey Kyle,

I’ve downloaded the file you’ve added and cut it down to a small section of straight track. If there is anything you’d like me to change or even scale it to a set size just let me know so I may fix it. This file will be attached below. Hope this helps.

Wow, I have put hours into this. Thanks so much, this is exactly what I was looking for. How can I get this so I can edit it in Autodesk Inventor 2015? Thanks, Kyle.

Thanks so much! I have used this non-stop once you told me about this program. Thanks so much, Kyle.

I’m glad it is what you were looking for. I’m not to sure about Autodesk inventor as I lack to experience using it. Is there an import option? Maybe someone else can help you out. I could always look into it.

If you ever need anything else doing just let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

Can I ask one last thing? Can you do exactly what you did before but this time get a track piece WITH a column on it? That would absolutely terrific.

Yeah sure. I’ll have to get round to it over the weekend. I tried loading it but nothing appear, just an empty file. If you require anything else I may be able to help with that too. Should have it done by Saturday.

Hey Kyle,

I’ve got a straight piece of track similar to the other, but this time it has a column piece on it. I’ll attach it to this comment. If you need anything else just ask. Hope this helps.

Thank-you so much!! I am mesmerized by how you do this. Are you doing this solely from MeshMixer? I may ask you to do this one more time tomorrow if you don’t mind. You just do an extraordinary job. Thanks so much and let me know if you don’t want to do this one more time. I promise I will only ask you to do this one more time. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

I’m glad I can help. I do not use MeshMixer, but do use Blender. I could do another piece if you let me know what it is. I should have it done within the day if I have time. You’ve ask if you can do anything for me, but I’m not doing this for a reward, I’m just happy to help people out. The only question I have is what you are using this for as I’m rather curious?

This is the last one I would like to do. Attached is another roller coaster. All I need is another flat piece or bendy with a single column attached to it and nothing else. Thank-you for doing this. I am thinking about creating some type of roller coaster with this or something. Whatever I do I’ll keep you updated. Thanks, Kyle.

Below should be the latest requested track piece. It is a flat piece, with one column section. If you want the column moving towards the centre of the track I could do that for you. I’d like to hear how this project turns out and would be willing to help you with any further work. We could exchange emails, so that you get exactly what you want out of the roller coaster. If your interested I could help turn your ideas for your roller coaster into a design, which you could then print with your own printer or ask for it to be printed. You could draw or design a basic layout which I could then use to construct this roller coaster for you. I’m just wondering whether this will be printed, or used for something else. Is it a hobby or a piece of work for something?

Hope to hear back from you and possibly discuss arrangements if you are interested.

Glad I could help.

Thanks again for doing this. I would love to work on this project with you. What I want to do is create a roller coaster track, which thanks to you I have a basic framework, and then create a roller coaster train to go on top that would actually be functional. Do you think we could pull this off? I don’t know how well this will go but if it goes well we could create a full working model and have the train go around the track. I thought this would be cool to do and that’s why I created this forum. So what do you say, do you want to help? It will be quite an endeavor let me tell you! The train/ car will be the hardest part. The wheels will be printed in ninjaflex I think so it can grip the track. Is there a way to private message you to send my email? This is gonna be great!

I’d be happy to help you out and I would just like to say thank you for letting me help you. I recon we could pull this off, but it would take quite a bit of work. This interests me so I would be dedicated to the task. I agree that the cart would be one of the hardest parts. To save on cost we could make prototypes to find the most effective way to make the cart, rather than make the track and realise the cart doesn’t work on this particular track. We could use wheels or a piece which hooks over at each side similar to some roller coasters. I’m not sure of any way you could letting me know what your emails is privately, but I could always create an order so I can give you my email then you may cancel the order. Does this seem like a good idea?

Look forward to working with you on this project. It should be great!

Do you know how to create a drawing file. If so, could you make a drawing file for the latest roller coaster track that you did for me? It’s the Silver Star track with column. Basically what I need is all the dimensions off of that file including the column if you don’t mind. I will use this to create the first flat piece of track. The hardest thing about collaborating on this will be keeping the files under the same software. I use Autodesk Inventor 2015 which is a .ipt file. It cannot convert a .stl to .ipt. Do you have a program that is capable of doing that? Anyway thanks for your help. We will be well on our way if I can get the dimensions off of that file. I have been trying all day. Thanks, Kyle.

I’m glad you want to work on this with me. My e-mail is First things first let’s design and print the track then make the cart. I think this will be the easiest. What do you think?
