I have sliced and created other gcode files (elephant, etc) and not printing on my mini V2. When I print the cat file (preheated), nozzle goes straight to home and the progress bar aligns with printing progress. When I print other gcode files, printer arm/nozzle doesn’t move (fan is going) and the progress bar will progress but nothing prints. What am I doing wrong?
I know you said the cat file was preheated, but were the other prints? I know it is kind of a stupid question, but that would be the easiest solution for this problem. If that isn’t the problem, was the cat file loaded on the SD card when the printer came? The file may be loaded specifically for that type of printer, but if the printer model isn’t set in your slicer settings, that may screw something up (it did with my Printrbot Simple Metal). You may also consider changing slicers to Cura or Repetier or another that you aren’t using right now. if neither of these work, try pushing a reset on the controller board, or contact Monoprice. You can also consult the people of Reddit. I don’t know everything, but I hope one of these help. If not, other people in the community are always available!

Thanks so much for the reply. I had everything preheated for the other files. The file that works was indeed preloaded. I sliced the other files with Cura.
I know its too late for the person who wrote the initial question but if others visit try the following solution. Whatever you want to print, just name the file cat.gcode. Save the file to the mini sd card and try to print.
I recently bought Monoprice 3d mini printer V2 as well and had the same issue. I downloaded a few things from thinkercad and nothing would print. Progress bar would show up and quickly show finished but nothing actually printed. Only item that actually printed was the cat.gcode file that came on the mini SD card with the printer. I created a new folder on the mini SD card and dropped a file to print something other than the cat but I named the file cat.gcode and it worked. Hope this helps someone. I wasted a few hours before trying this and hope so save someone else that hassle.
