Hello!
I sent an email to 3dhubs support on this one, but wanted to know what people think.
I have 2 printers for my hub, a gmax that I customized to have a really huge z axis, and a printrbot simple metal thats also customized. At the moment my gmax is offline, however the printrbot is online.
The issue is that my brother tried getting a quote from my hub, and when he uploads the part in mm or cm my hub shows up. But since his part is in inches he swaps to that, and my hub disappears.
It seems the 3dhubs searching/sorting algorithm discards hubs with printers that can’t handle certain sizes. This all fine and dandy, however because both my printers are customized this presents a massive issue;
The simple metal has both the x and z axis upgrades. Its more than big enough a build envelope to print the part my brother is trying to get, but 3dhubs filters it out.
I’ve looked into trying to configure my printers on my hub, but other than adding materials there is no way to actually manually input my printers capabilities. I view this as a massive issue, because clearly my printers are capable of more than what 3dhubs thinks and being filtered out as a result sucks hard.
Is there a way 3dhubs support can fix this?
What are some work arounds in the meantime?
Thanks
Update ish:
I found the “submit new printer” form thing through an old thread about 8 months back when 3dhubs changed some pricing things. I filled out all parts of the form, hopefully something comes from it.
Hey @FallYama_Indus, apologies for the late reply! And yay, you found it! Indeed, all you have to do in order to update your printers’ dimensions is to fill in this form: http://3dhu.bs/nNK2YZ. Do allow for 3-5 business days for the changes to go live. Have a great weekend!
