Why does my dashboard say my hub needs to be verified now, even though I have 3 completed and payed orders?

I think they messed something up

Same things occurred to ours, looks like they are confirming phone number and address. I do not believe that those two items where confirmed previously.

It is unfortunate that hubs will be down until a post card arrives, a heads up would have been appreciated. I also see they did it at the end of business Friday, which is interesting.

Hopefully someone from 3D Hubs provides some additional information.

We have the same issue over here, and keep getting an error when trying to confirm payment info. It’s frustrating that there was no notification of this, but perhaps it was an error.

Same here! This is so stupid. I have to wait a week for some damn postcard to verify my address? Ridiculous.

Looks like they have rolled out their Verification feature to more hubs. Before only the intermediate level and above hubs were able to do the psychical verification.

I do not think this will impact your Hub while the postcard is in the mail. My Hub is still functioning even though it says it wont be online until it is verified.

I also received the verification issue but seems like I can still get orders, for now. If you have PayPal it’s pretty easy to have a verified payment method but only if your bank account is verified with PayPal first. So there has to at least be a bank account directly or indirectly connected and verified to get verified. Fun stuff but would have been nice if we received a notice. If they placed a notice on one of their social media’s or not, it was a poor attempt to let the Hubs know. I still have to wait on the postcard… I see the need for this but it could have been planned out better. Now everyone thinks their Hubs are down for the next 10 days.

Hey everybody!!

Unfortunately, I’m also a bit confused with the verification. First of all, as far as I know, I am still a “starter” level hub (in the United States). However, I am still able to verify my hub from the dashboard and the verification tab. I thought you had to be at the “intermediate” level to become verified. Is this a bug? Or is everybody now able to become verified?

I’m also having issues with the postal verification. I entered in my address and confirmed, but then the verifying button grays out with a spinning wheel. And if I refresh the page, the verification button lights up again, as if I hadn’t done anything at all. I’m not sure if the postcard request has gone through, or if I’m doing something incorrectly.

Any input on both of these problems/bugs would be great! @Filemon or @Brian, any suggestions?

Hi @jfield,

Indeed we launched verification for all Hubs yesterday. Please allow me to explain what this means for existing Hubs and why we’re doing this. The official talk post and notifications to Hubs will follow shortly as well.

Our goal with launching Hub verifications is to increase platform reliability over the coming months. For existing Hubs there will be no immediate impact, you’ll still be listed and able to take orders. However if you complete verifications you’ll get a slight bump in the search results ranking.

For new Hubs joining the platform it will be required to complete all verifications steps before being able to receive orders.

We’ll take a look at all of your feedback and questions below and make sure you’ll be able to complete all verifications.

Best,

Brian

Hey @Jackson277, indeed we opened up verification to all the Hubs yesterday. We’re waiting to see if there are any major issues before we inform all the Hubs on Monday, at which point Customer Support will also be standing by to resolve any issues.

I’m going to have our developers take a look at what’s going wrong with your address verification.

At the moment these verifications will not take your Hub offline, so don’t worry about that.

Best,

Brian

Hi @PepperNickel, you’re correct, the notifications we’re supposed to go out yesterday, but due to a technical issue we’ve postponed to Monday.

None of these verifications will take your Hub offline, so no need to worry about that. We’ll make sure to address the copy tomorrow and send our all notifications on Monday.

Thanks for the heads up, appreciated!

Brian

Hi @Monger, having verified addresses helps us to make the experience for customers more reliable. We’ve recently seen quite a few ‘fake’ Hubs put themselves in the center of big cities, then shipping orders from different places, that’s something we would like to get rid off and makes the platform better in the long run.

Hope you understand, sorry for the one week wait.

Brian

Hi @Enza3D, do you have a verified Paypal account already, that’s what we’re checking? If you do and still get an error, please make sure the First and Last name match with your Paypal account. Let me know if that fixes the error.

Brian

Hey @CatalystService, sorry for the lack of communication, we’ve got email notifications queued up to go out on Monday. Existing Hubs won’t be taken offline for not completing verifications, we’ll update the text on the page to reflect that.

Best,

Brian

My hub has not received any orders since this started…I was getting a few orders a week. Pretty sure this has effect my hub somehow, and the status shows as my hub will be offline until verification is complete.

@Brian can you give me a link or direction to where to complete the verification I am an existing hub.

Personally I feel the post card verification is a little much. I do not operate a business out of my home, thus providing my home address to people I’ve never met or had dealings with is a little much for me. All I know is complete strangers will now know where thousands of dollars worth of 3d printing equipment is, in fact they know the EXACT address of where the equipment sits. If I was operating out of a store front, I would have no issue with this whatsoever, but having complete strangers know where high end 3d printing gear is seems completely insane too me… but hey, what do I know. If postal verification is mandatory, then I will most likely stop using 3dhubs and start marketing on my own. I understand customers need to be protected, but that is already occurring based on the current pay out system. So please do not force mail verification… otherwise that’s probably the end of my 3dhubs venture. Just my 2 cents, Cheers

Brian, I don’t understand how this is even an issue? If the customers are receiving their orders as ordered then what is the problem? The current system, the customer has to confirm they received the print up to their expectations, so what am I missing here?? I would like to keep my home address private because letting complete strangers know where 5K worth of printing gear is seems a little nuts to me… Very likely I will stop using 3dhubs if mail verification becomes mandatory, and start marketing myself…

Hi @Brian,

I have a fairly old hub, I’d like to have it verified, but instead of mine, there is only the owner’s name on the post box. Is it possible to ask the post card to her name? According to the owner, the name on the post box can’t be changed (it’s a company’s name).

Thanks,

Tamas

Hi

My Paypal account is a business account. Are you checking the first and lastname of the business contact name?
