I have a HIC Tech Reprap Prusa i3 - Large Print Area DIY 3D Printer. My Hotend went out so I replaced it and the thermistor. Since then I am getting a DEF for the hotend temp. I have switched the wires for the hotbed to the hotend just to see if it works and it will read but the other thermistor doesnt. Is there anything else I can check?

Your replacement thermistor is likely different from the one programed into the firmware. You would need the same thermistor type or to reflash the firmware. I haven’t hear back from hic about a fried board for 6 months so I don’t think there’s any real warranty. (I just put a Rambo and steel frame)
Well I checked the gcode and it says that it = 1 which would be the 100k. Which is what I put in it
I had this problem when I replaced mine on my Robo3d. Make sure that the wires are completely in the heated block, if they are not or they are not snug into the block the printer will throw that error.
i checked the program code and it is set to 100k which is what the thermistor is. I also got a brand new and tested good thermistor yet it is still giving me the DEF error.
If you know the code is right make sure the thermistor is installed correctly, I don’t know how it is on your printer but on mine it’s a cylinder that slides into the heated block, you want to make sure it is completely in and tightened down.
