Hi All,
Getting married in October. Need a wedding cake topper. I have the design, it’ll be the typical MR & MRS LAST NAME WEDDING DATE topper. I don’t know much about materials, it’ll be inserted in a cake. Can anyone help me? And suggestions on material? I would want it 3D and a keepsake for after the wedding. So nothing on paper or cardboard (sorry i’m new to this world, and may not be explaining myself correctly)
Thank you so much @ GIFT3D. I appreciate all the infor!!
How do I find a local hub? I"m sorry i’m “dumb” with this whole thing…never even knew 3d hubs existed!!

Hey rosiegill,
There are a lot of materials to choose from like plastic, metal or even a rubber- like. Using plastics like ABS or PLA will probably be the cheapest as they are more readily available so you should easily be able to get a hub close by to print it off for you. However if it is going to be placed in the cake is recommend choosing a food safe material. There are plenty of these, but it may be harder to find a hub locally that will do the material.
If your willing to spend a bit extra than a normal plastic then you should choose a metal material. There’s a range to choose from and it will maintain its shape and not break so I’d recommend this type of material if you’d like it as a keepsake. A few jewellers may have the printers for metallic materials, but if not you can always use 3D hubs for searching using the material filter.
If you chose a fancy pattern (floral or iconic) to form the letters then it will really stand out.
Hope this helps.
Good luck with the wedding

There’s a large ‘3D Print’ button at the top right of the page. Once you click it you just go down the page adding the relevant information, like filters for materials. Make sure you’ve got a location selected further down so that when you search for those nearby.
If you’ve already got the files in .stl format you can add them to the top and get a ‘rough’ quote. This may vary depending on your specifications of quality and infill
Hopefully that answers your question.
Absolutelly!! Thank you
