Hello!
A few weeks ago i got myself a CTC Makerbot clone. So far i’ve found it to be a decent enough printer, currently im working on upgrades.
In the mean time i’ve found myself an issue. Any time i try and print something thats rounded or cylindrical its printing slightly oval shaped.
I havent really been able to find any answers online (or maybe im not looking hard enough) but im hoping someone here might be able to help.
Ive attatched a picture!
On the left is the print as is, on the right is the print with… a highly detailed circle on top (cause ive awesome photoshop skills =D ) just to show how off it is.
Print settings are
PLA
extruder temp 205
bed temp 60
Feedrate is 19mm/s (calculated to suit the printer)
and a travel rate of 60mm/s
Fill is 10%
Any help anyone can offer will be appreciated!
Thanks!
Steve
This printer needs the pillow blocks on the y axis. Also, update to sailfish, it will make the printer twice as good. I’ve heard that the file which holds the steps for the stepper motor is not correct and needs to be corrected but by going to sailfish it should correct it.
