Ive just bought a ctc 3d printer and its printing some of the projects and then it seems to stop feeding filament please help

Hey @russellbig37 , did you try removing the filament and feeding it in again? There are many reasons that might have caused it. Also , when extruding simply giving a gentle push can also be very helpful.

What material are you printing with? Is the spool of filament in the appropriate section?

You need to change your drive blocks to spring loaded drive blocks this is a common problem wih ctc printers

I agree. Otherwise you may have to take a part the extruder and pull it out of the nozzle and heating block manually.

Okay is the extruder/print head making a clicking sound and not flowing plastic?

There’s a really big learning curve to owning one of these machines I’ll link you to the part you need to buy but don’t let your extruder click you will kill the motor it’s basically because the filament drive is set to a diameter of 1.75 and the filament you’ve got isn’t that size and you need adjustable drives on YouTube search spring loaded extruders makerbotmand there are plenty of guides how to install them

I know this because a friend just bought one about a week ago on my reccomendation and loves it but it never worked with the Chinese filament and the drive blocks so I changed them for him and it’s fixed all his problems

it starts to print then it stops half way thought or even less i dont know bout clicking sound as theres a noise when u switch it on lik something rubbing on the psu fan

That’s normal the fans that come in these printers are of crap quality and don’t run very quietly http://www.3dprima.com/en/accessories/spare-parts/wanhao/wanhao-mk9-uppgrade-kit.html these are the upgraded drive blocks this will fix almost all of your problems with extrusion and you’ll get lovely prints it’s the first upgrade I did to mine
