Hi need help again , I’m running ctc dual replicator printers , one I have has been a trouble maker from day I got it , cables not working properly to motors , cause was extruder juddering all over , so I’ve changed the wires and I’m happy , my printer is smooth and great , but now for some reason it prints the same stl smaller than my other printers , it won’t print the correct size , it’s always smaller , please help lol

Please give us more details on what you mean by smaller. Print a cube and tell us the actual dimensions versus the expected.

Also, did you happen to reflash the printer?

Finally, are you using the same file for both. (the .x3g?)

Roughly about 5mm difference , using x3g files , same file put on 2sd cards , 2 printers printing same file , one is 5mm smaller , I’ve just changed a pulley on the right hand side motor carriage and had lots of trouble with the extruder juddering and going back and forth , I changed the wires to the motor and everything was a lot smoother , except this next issue , please explain reflash?

Ok. Ignore reflash for now. .5mm smaller is still not enough information. What is the expected size. I want to help you chase a a few things down but need the info. Also what is your slicing software. Important.

Ok no I hadn’t done the firmware but I have tried to update it now and it has updated successfully and it is still printing smaller

Seems pretty likely you changed for a pulley with a different tooth count than the one you replaced.

Did you fit a 16t one by any chance?

I’m sorry but I have got the print working to right size now , I don’t have a clue how but it is printing correctly , must have changed something in the software , now after installing the new firmware my sd card slot says card error , I’ve tried 3 different cards now , is this likely to happen or is this yet another problem with this printer , I’ve printed for about 4 hours on this one and I’ve had it for months , Thankyou very much for your people it is so so appreciated

If you flashed with the wrong software, you can get this error. ARE you sure you selected the correct firmware?

No I’m not certain m I updated to 7.5 , was amazed it worked but I’ll look into the firmware tonight wen I get home , I’m sure it was doing this before I touched the firmware but I’m running out of ideas

If instead, you see the error message “SD card not present” then you need to insert an SD card into your printer.

If the error message “Unable to read this SD card format. Reformat as FAT-16 or FAT-32” is displayed, then you need to remove your SD card and reformat it. The SD card must be formatted as FAT-16 or FAT-32. Unlike standard MakerBot firmware (which only supports FAT-16 on SDSC cards of 2 GB or less), any capacity of SD card may be used, including SDSC (standard capacity), SDHC (high capacity), and SDXC (extended capacity) cards. Note that many new SD cards now come formatted using the proprietary, licensed “eFAT” format. Sailfish does not support this format as implementation requires licensing from Microsoft. If you have difficulty with a new SD card, you may wish to check its format on your computer, reformatting it as “FAT” if necessary

ALSO format via SDFormatter, not windows format!

Thank you Perry I think you are correct , I’m just about Get back and see what I can get done , Thankyou , I will let you know how I get on , I think I’m best just putting sailfish on it ,

I’m going to go back to the start , is there any way of factory reset or am I best just to plug laptop in and use replicator g from start , I’m now pretty sure I have installed the wrong firmware , I looked for my replicator g and can’t find it , anyone know where to get it , the website seems to have dissapeared

OK, you need to use the replicator g that is on the sailfish thingiverse page. Sailfish Firmware by jetty - Thingiverse

But STOP. Before you do that–> read this: http://www.sailfishfirmware.com/doc/sailfish.pdf

Follow the instructions carefully!
