Total noob; apologies in advance.

I just bought and assembled a He3D K200 Delta (my first 3D printer), as it was the model with the largest number of ratings on a couple different stores I found, and the damn thing came with no packing list, no assembly instructions, no software, and missing hardware, but I’m getting off track.

I can’t get the printer to communicate with my PC no matter what I try. I went to the reprap.cn website and found driver downloads (which took me to FDTI), and installed every version of a Windows 7 driver I could find. Even download just the files and tried to point Windows manually to the folder, but it says it finds no drivers. I’ve tried Googling the board markings, and get no results that relate to 3D printers. I’m at my wits end; I feel like I bought a $300 paperweight.

I already know I have a ton to learn about gcode and just in general, but it seems like actually communicating with the printer is the first step, and I can’t make it.

If anyone can assist or point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.

Model: He3D K200 Delta

Firmware: Repetier 0.92.9

Minor update, still in same position.

He3D finally got back to me with a link to the Arduino IDE (instead of the FTDI link they have on their site), and after installing it, the printer finally showed up as a COM port in Device Manager. However, I was using my computer at work on my lunch break, and I can’t leave it there, so I had to take the printer home. 2 laptops and 2 desktops later, installing the exact same files, and I can’t get a single computer to recognize this damn thing.

I’ve even tried installing the FTDI drivers as well just in case. I’ve tried manually pointing to the arduino.inf when manually selecting a driver (which just gives me a Code 10 “unable to start” error). I’ve restarted the computers and the printers in every order I can think of. I’ve uninstalled drivers and tried connecting the printer first, then installing the drivers again, and zilch.

I’m out of ideas, and I’m spending a lot of energy not throwing this delta out of a window. Any helpful ideas would be appreciated.

Hi,

Did you managed to get this board working?

i think the problem is with the USB communication chip. On a normal Arduino mega 2560 its a atmel 16u2, but chinese guys thought to save some money and replaced with a chip called ch340 or something.

You need a different driver for this to work.

Check these instructions maybe helps: (I think you only need to install the drivers)

Here is also a link to a driver witch worked for me when repairing a printer with this kind of board.

Maybe its solve your problem if not let me know.

Tamas

I have this same printer and had pretty much the same problems. No instructions except crappy ass backwards youtube tutorials, the hotend was broke during shipping, and no customer support. I ended up buying a new osoyoo mks 1.5 motherboard from amazon, confirgured and loaded Repetier on it then replaced the end effector with an all metal one and put a new j head hot end on it,( since the stock one is crapp and always jams about 10 minutes into a print.) Also bought all metal corner brackets ,and carriages from Robo Digg and Im just now printing pieces a month after recieving the orignal kit. If you really want quality prints from this printer you pretty much have to replace at least 40 percent of the crappy plastic components for quality aluminum rigid ones.

Thank you so much! It worked! i was having the same issue with my computer not recognizing the printer. Now my z probe does not work but they are sending me another one. Hope there won’t be to many problems in the near future. Also all i did is download the drivers and then my computer connected to the printer automatically. Don’t know why but it did. And also the sd card they gave you does not work with the printer numerous times i put files in the sd card and nothing showed up. So i went and just tried a couple different sd cards and i found one that finally works. So just go and experiment with different cards until you find one that works.
