Hello all,

I am struggling with printing Marvin’s ring especially when I use 0.35 mm layer height. The problem is the more high usage of layer height (up to 0.35 mm because my nozzle diameter is 0.35mm), the more I get trouble with it. On the other hand, if I use low layer height, for example,0.30mm, I print Marvin’s ring good enough but there are some deformations like rounding and crashing into it.

  • printing heat 180
  • printing bed 60
  • flow rate 100
  • feed rate 100

I also had tried,

  • printing heat 175
  • bed 60
  • flow rate 90
  • feed rate 110

the result was not bright.

Therefore, I want to find the perfect balance between these two options. Is there anything to re-consider the aspect of producing Marvin’s ring?

Thanks.

Hello! I would try a layer height of .2 or .1 on Marvin, just so that he has nice sharp edges. Also, what is your print speed? The hook on top of Marvin does not print good with a high print speed.

Like Sam said, try turning down your layer height. I usually like to print at 150 Microns for Marvin. Also, try slowing your print speed to 50mm/s. I have found that this works very well on my Lulzbot Mini.

I hope this helps!

It would be a good idea to switch on your filament fan to cool down the filament.

I guess the problem is that the Filament at the ring is too hot.

A lower print speed will also result in a better print result.

Have a look at my hub. https://www.3dhubs.com/bregenz/hubs/dawinci

Did you already tried lowering printing speed ?
