Hey all,

Just looking for some help. I have recently purchased the Hatchbox Alpha 3d Printer and am wondering which software/ host/ slicer to use with it. I am open to opinions.

Also with each respective program how do you configure it to recognize the delta style circular build plate?

Thanks

I use Simplify 3D for my printer. You can check out their web site and see if they list your printer. If it is in the software the bed is already configured.

I think that Repetier Host is a decent free option, it is very highly configurable and the Alpha uses modified Repetier Firmware.

There are many tutorials on the web explaining how to setup Repetier Host.

Simplify3D is a great piece of software and if you are willing to spend a few bucks on it, it will be worth it and you won’t regret it, plus they offer a 30 day trial (you have to pay up front, but if you don’t like it, they will return your money)

Cura is best by far. I use Cura 15.04.6 and find it very easy and performs much better than slic3r. You can make the bed circular by going Machine>Machine Settings> and check “Machine center 0,0” and change build area shape to circular.

I have run my alpha for over 500 hours on simplify3d. They have a profile they will send you. Works awesome!

Yes simplify3d is best by far, i forgot to include “free” in mine :stuck_out_tongue:
