Gotta love the excitement
Congrats, can’t wait to see what comes out of it!
If anyone else is considering purchasing one, use this link to get $100 off!
I have looked at it longingly, but the cost is just a bit too much for my bank account at this time. *sigh*

Make 3d printers with it and 3d print lasercutter parts … infinite cycle of reprap machines
The Glowforge would be an awesome addition to mine (and most other) workshops, but sadly the price tag is too much for me now, especially if you add on the shipment from US :-/ maybe get it later and when there are EU resellers showing up.
Maybe it’s time for 3dHubs to add lasercutters to the list of machines you can add as a hub. Especially with the glowforge lasercutter more people get private lasercutters and hence the limits of such machines get pushed further. I think lasercutting is the next addition to 3d printing in terms of private machines that are used to make custom stuff. Especially since there are more and different materials available with lasercutters and generally the lasercutter precision is better then the 3d printer one (no oozing and unpredictable extrusion tolerances). The cost of the material is also cheaper (in most cases) so lasercutters can be alternatives for very large 2d parts.

Nice one, Marius! It’s a very good point - I’ll definitely bring it up with the others. Cheers!
I love Glowforge, but I can’t afford it at this point either! What are your plans with it?
