i have a metal model of a war ship -its has great detail even though it is only about 2 inches in length- what i am looking for is a person or company who could provide me with an enlarged copy of this model - say 5 inches in length? is this possible.
in an ideal world i would like the person/company to copy or scan the model to get best results in producing an enlarged copy.
what would such a process cost if the copy was manufactured in a coloured plastic such as grey? i can supply a standard picture of the model in question
I’m based in Northumberland and offer 3d scanning and 3d printing (David SLS3 and form2). Scanning isn’t as straightforward as just taking a few pictures - there is a lot of cleanup work involved, so it can be quite time consuming and laborious, especially if the target object is small. It would be a combination of scanning, repairing and modifying the scan, so potentially a few hours or a few days work just to get the 3d model accurate, and then when it comes to printing it, depending on the complexity of the model it may be more appropriate to break it into sections before printing. The question you need to ask is how much do I want to pay, I’d estimate a minimum of £200,but probably more.
