Hey,

We are looking to invest in a 3D printer mainly for prototype work and try out new design ideas. The larger build area is a must.

Budget: < 4-5k USD

Minimum build area: 320x320x250

We have looked at the gCreate gMax 1.5+ and Fushion3 F400.

- Has anyone tried the F400 and what is your general ideas? The printer will end up in our office in the future so having an enclosed printer is a +.

- What about the gMax 1.5+ ?

- Or is there any other printers out there we should consider?

Appreciate the advice =)

Gmax 1.5+

/ Gustavo

My f400 hasn’t arrived yet. From looking at the gcreate I’m not sure why you would even compare the two? The fusion is an enclosed build area, the gcreate is open. The fusion is a custom corexy/hbot design “f-bot”, the gcreate is a big prusa. The fusion uses duet 32 bit electronics the gcreate uses 8 bit ramps. The fusion prints at ridiculously high speeds, the gcreate is lugging around that bed and carriage so it can’t generate as much speed or acceleration without having issues. The fusion comes with simplify3d (which you can remove and get a discount). Personally that gmax looks like a POS I wouldn’t use it if they gave it to me. It also requires 35+" of desk space because of the moving bed. The team at fusion 3d also seems very knowledgeable and they do a lot of things different than other manufacturers because of their experience.

Thanks Miaviator, appreciate it.

I’ve mainly looked at these two since its the ones who could manage the larger build areas. We are all new to 3D printers and would like to have a product with minimum maintenance. Seems the F400 is a good purchase.

Dear Gustavo,

I just manufactured 5 (five) custom 3D printers.

It is my own design and aimed at high precision print and large print area.

I was a bit disappointed with commercially available printers and their performance.

The build/print area is 380x380x325mm.

If this sounds interesting to you, let me know.

Best regards, Maxim

Gustavo did you ever purchase the Fusion F400 3D printer? If so do you like it
