Hello!

The nozzle on my WASP is clogging quite often. The thing is, nothing has changed – I am using the same spools, the same nozzle (0.4mm)…

Only the temperature in my office is warmer and more humid. Could this be it?

If so, what should I do?

I am printing PLA and Timberfill. Both printed fine 1-3 months ago. I am using the same settings.

Should I lower the nozzle temp to compensate for the warmer office temp?

Thanks!

Hello Sergio, I had same trubbles with Delta 2040. It’s really annoying. The consideration about the humidity i think is valid. Moreover, the temperature at the nozzle for our sprinter, is a little bit higher then the setted one on the slicer software. So set a lower printing temperature is the first step. It’s really important to descover a method to solve this problem. A way to improve the situation it could be isolating the spoon from the ambient with, for example, a cylindrical volume of plexiglass. Gabriele

Interesting, thank you.

Do we know if PLA “recovers” when temp and humidity drop? i.e., at night, will the spool release the extra moisture it has absorbed?

I have not tested it, but it does appear to clog more when the ambient temp is high in humidity. I probably had 28-30 degrees C and 60%(?) humidity in my office yesterday.

Hello,
to mold temperature?
The temperature is too high is not good especially if molds of the pieces with great retraction.
Even moisture can infuenzare the success of the prints. All plastics are hygroscopic and when they absorb moisture vapor generated during printing but this causes defects on the surface and problems of delamination between the layers.
If you can unlock and thoroughly clean the uggello you can try to dry the filament in an oven at 60 degrees for 45 minutes (not microwave) and try printing at a lower temperature 175 ° 180 ° dovrebero be sufficient.
You can also try to increase the fan speed which has the main task of cooling the upper part of the extruder not only to cool the press.
I do not know the filament you’re using, you can also keep it clean with a piece of sponge or leather or cloth so you do not drag any environmental dust inside dell’uggello.
