Hi all,

Just wanted to share a project that many of you 3D printing enthusiasts might find valuable! DesktopHero is a (free) web app that lets you customize/personalize your own gaming characters, then save them to a 3D printable file. It’s been successfully funded on Kickstarter already, and is in the final week shooting for stretch goals.

More information here, as well as the ability to contribute to its development!

I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about it.

Hoping you’ll find it useful!

Andrew

Hi, just wanted to say this project looks great!

The software looks amazing and your approach is awesome - you’ve posted an already-funded kickstarter project, in a very modest manner and are essentially gifting the world your creation and contribution to the 3d community.

Its late here now but I will be signing up as a supporter first thing in the morning.

keep up the great work, I can’t wait to see what comes next!

.

Thank you for your support and enthusiasm!

We’re excited about DesktopHero’s basic package and the stretch goals that we’ve already met and we’re really hoping to reach the last three stretch goals in the 5 days that remain!

The remaining three stretch goals include being able to upload your own assets, have access to character wings (created using reference photography from Larry Dixon, who did the reference photography for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit eagles), and making DesktopHero collaborative so that you can use models uploaded by someone else.

Cool things around the corner!
