Hi.
On my printer (FF Dreamer) settings I have the “Enable Filament Detector” option to turn on/off.
But the manual doesn’t say anything about it. I also could not find anything about it online.
Any idea what is it and what it does?
Cheers!

Hi Maiegues!! I’ve been using ff dreamer for about a month now. As far as I know filament detector senses the filament in the extruder while printing and sound alarm when the filament get completed.
I have not messed with it to too much but I believe it just added support for a filament detector rather than doing it natively. You can get them off amazon fairly cheaply and I believe that option just let’s you turn them on and off. FilamentMonitor - Tunell
Well oddly enough the seller told me that the dreamer don’t have this feature. He even asked for a picture of it ò.Ó
I’ve never seen a lot of information on the Dreamer and the support for a filament detector, the website that I linked to specifically calls out the Creator. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0389/3729/files/TN-MON-4\_Install\_on\_FlashForge\_Creator\_Pro.pdf?11555043677070510906
I assume the process would be similar but I’m not comfortable enough with this printer to start messing with what’s under my panels just yet.
That’s probably because the standard device does not appear to, it’s support for a function called a P-Stop which is a device that would need to be added. There seems to be some documentation in Chinese on this printer, but I don’t speak Chinese and Google Translate was only mildly successful in it’s translation of the pages I found.
