Everything works fine until about 2% into a print. My motor that moves the head left and right quits working. I would at first make a horrible grinding noise, but now it just stops moving and simply prints a straight blob. I have checked my cables, and also swapped them with another motor and still the same outcome. If i turn the printer off for about 30 minutes and try again will print normal then right back at the grinding.

Check the stepper driver. Could be bad or overheating which is bad also I guess.
That still acts like a cable though.
