Hello,
I upgraded my Creator Pro(2016) to the swiss micro all metal hotend kit because I want to print PA.
But Flashprint’s maximum temperatur is 250°C. How can I print with higher temps? Is it sufficient to use a other slicer software where I can set higher temps or is a other firmware needed?

You really should check out Simplify3d, it’s an amazing program, best slicer around, worth every bit of the $150 it costs!

Hey Bastion,

Makerbot is very good with FF & you can config your own Temp setting etc.
https://www.makerbot.com/download-desktop/
Hope these links help, all these can be configured for FF.
I have not tried Download MakerBot Print 3D Printing Software | MakerBot 3D Printers as yet.
Simplify3D is Great, price is $149.00 US

Hi,
I already have simplify3d. Can I set the temperatur higher than 250°C or will the firmware of the flashforge limit the temperature?

I have had my Creator Pro up to 270, Click the Process in Simplify3D, Under Temperature, adjust the extruder to suit your temp required.
Hit OK, Prepare to Print…
My Firmware did not override, Temp went to my setting of 270.

Very good, so I don’t have to install sailfish
Thanks for your help!

No Problems, Simplify will save the file as x3g for Flashforge as well as gcode, so you will have no worries saving directly to SD
Sailfish is already installed in FlashForge, watch the screen on boot up,you will see.
You already have Sailfish. You may want to let Flashprint check that the version is up to date. 7.8 is the latest I believe.

I have an older flashforge creator pro with upgraded all metal hotends. I use simplify3d to slice on it and it works great. They have a pre built profile for the ffcp which makes it easy to get up and running. The downside is that it’s a $150 to buy it. If that’s out of your budged then you should also be able to slice with Cura (free) but the machine profile is going to take a bit of setup and you will need to convert the gcode it outputs to x3g format using the GPX tool. Slic3r is another option for slicing but in my experience is that it’s resulting print quality lags behind Simplify3d and Cura.
You could also change the actual code before every print.
If you decide to use Makerbot software (Makerware) I would look for and download version 2.4 which is the last really good version for use with our clone printers
Hi LB7000,
I allready have simplify3d. Thanks for the information.
Another question for you. Can you print ABS and PLA with the metal hotends or is the result worse compaired to the original hot ends?

I havent found any issues with either.
I am just starting to work with PLA on the new set up and so far it is going good. Word is you must follow the Micro-Swiss install directions EXACTLY for a successful set up. Also research temps, extrusion etc. It seems excess extrusion is the most common cause of clogs with these.
Looks very nice. Which layer height is this?
.2, all settings mostly defaults except I reduced the retraction to .8.
Not sure for the 2016 version but with the previous ones, 250°C was a max due to the teflon tube tip going down into the hotend.
Check the FFCP google group.
For example : Redirecting to Google Groups
