I just received my first printer yesterday and got a great deal on it. It was a used i3 with less than 30 hours, the z axis mod, aluminum plate on the heating bed, and 4 rolls of filament. Set it up last night and leveled it based on a youtube video and then set up a print over night to see how it did.

I noticed the file must have had the settings high because the nozzle head jumped to 250* but I did have the printer speed set to 35%.

What do you guys think, what could I have changed?

This is not a bad print for your first one, but has a way to go.

I recommend you start working with test cubes, at 100 infill. Get your settings to where they print very well, with no buldging, skipping, and that measure correctly. Start with a 20x20x5cm “cube”.

Next, work on your bridging and retraction tuning. Search thingiverse for test prints.

Once you get tuned in, and understand the settings better, you will be a happy camper.

As for this print, you might try messing with retraction for stringing issues.

Cool, thanks for the info! It seems I can do not so complicated items right now. Leveled the bed and it was printing a little better. still messing with all the settings and learning though. Going to try some test runs tonight with cubes.
