Hi, I don’t really know where to go with this but I’m trying here first. So I just replaced the extruder on my Flashforge Finder, and after I started it up, I wasn’t able to calibrate it. I have the nozzle screwed in tightly, but it only lets me enter positive numbers to calibrate the height; the nozzle starts out too close to the build plate. If I try to save a positive number extruder calibration, it fails and gives an error. So, I’m now not able to print and I’m not sure what’s wrong. By the way, I replaced the extruder nozzle with an MK10 one, I assume that’s standard but maybe that’s the reason?

Hi Russ, did you find a solution to your problem?
Because i have exactly the same problem!
I changed the nozzle and the teflon tube… i put everything back into place…
same here… nozzle tight. But nozzle scratching the build plate…
i then try to calibrate the extruder with a double sheet of paper, (the positive nubers come from the fact that the plate is so close you cannot lower the nozzle any more)
after putting the extruder at perfect distance, i press ok…
and on the display it says: extruder calibration error ! and of course it forgets any settings i have made.
Yes i have made all the firmware updates… I am at: 1.5.20170419
I have reset the printer…
i do not understand why i get this error…when i load the filament it comes out perfectly
i just cannot print because the nozzle is much to low.
Manual calibration does not work… because when i tighten the screws under the plate to a maximum the nozzle is still too close.

If anybody has an idea, please notify me…
thanks in advance for your input. until now the finder did a very good job.
