Hi all.

I have the Replicator+ and I’ve been banging my head against the wall with this. Every time I start a print, when the extruder initially comes down the filament does not stick to the build plate. It instead curls up like a tail and even occasionally makes a full loop, part of which then gets stuck to the extruder. I have already once had this cause a golfball size blob of filament to be stuck on the extruder, luckily it was replaced as it was under warranty. Now I have to be present at the beginning of each print to ensure it doesn’t happen, and abort the print when it does.

I have tried changing the fan speed, print speed, z-offset, re-calibration, etc. to no avail. I have cleaned the build plate thoroughly with isopropyl. I have tried different filaments (we got a box of assorted PLA). All filament has been stored as it came, in plastic bags with the desiccant packages (out of sunlight, in a cool place).

This does not occur when printing with a raft. However the model I’m trying to print has a large circular base and therefore the raft is not only a huge waste of expensive filament, but also very difficult to pry off (even after increasing the raft-model offset).

Any suggestions?

edit: PLA, not ABS
