I have had my printer for several months and have had very few problems with it. I am using S3D. It has started making a grinding noise when hitting the x axis home limit. Any ideas please? I have tried Reset All Settings from the S3D menu but it doesn’t help.

Check that the x endstop switch is secure, plugged in and working. Move the carriage to the far left and then home the machine. Tap the tiny switch on the right side and see if the carriage stops.

Thanks, I’ll give those suggestions a try later and let you know how I get on.

The wire to the cooling fan was obstructing the limit switch. All OK now. Thanks

Do you mean like a stepper motor sound or a rail screech?

It was the belt slipping and x carriage hitting the end of its movable area. The x endstop was blocked. I know this symptom well as I pulled the right extruder off a one of my ffs and have to manually tap the endstop when starting a print.
