Hello everyone,

As most Fallout fans know the Pip Boy edition of the game flew off the shelves faster than some could get their hands on, even if I would have had the opportunity to order it I would definitely be debating cancelling my order in favor of the printed Pip Boy Pip-Boy 3000 Mark IV Assembly – Ytec 3D. As far as quality goes I have got to say this blows the special edition out of the water (truly impressive work). Only downside is; I don’t own a 3D printer. For something like this does anyone have a ballpark estimate of cost? I have seen a lot of different pricing for prefabricated versions but in my opinion putting it all together is half the fun.

Hi Brendon, the good news is that it’s definitely possible to 3D print your Pip-Boy :slight_smile: Depending on the phone you’re carrying, you can choose the right design from here for example: Pipboy for Iphone, Samsung, Lg, Htm and Nexus by Wizzick - Thingiverse. Once you upload the files to Online 3D Printing Service | Instant 3D Printing Quotes | Hubs and fill in your location, it should result in all the Hubs in the area that can help, plus their quotes on that specific file. Hope this helps!

I don’t like to discuss prices etc. publicly (mostly cause that leads to very aggressive competitive commenting from a lot of hubs) so please take a moment and visit my hub. I’ve done a lot of projects which required post processing (assembly, reworking, sanding, filling, painting,…) so if needed I could do all those things for you aside from the printing. We recently printed the Pip Boy 3k Mk IV for a customer using PLA at a medium resolution of 200 micron for a total of $118. We are in Southern California but can ship it out to you. When I get to a computer I’ll see if I have any, if so they’d be unassembled. I’ll reach out to our client for one of a finished product.

Based on the order that Gabriela auto created that quote would actually be about $60 in PLA

Sadly I didn’t snag any photos, the model our previous client used was close to 50 printed parts and we did not assemble at the shop as he was going to paint/finish it. I’ve sent a message to him, so hopefully we can get a good image!

We printed a different model pip boy at 200 micron that looked good. At that resolution you could do ABS for about $50 or PLA for $60 (using the models Gabriela posted in this talk). Upload the files and check out our hub for different resolution options, we can do whatever color works best if you’re going to paint over it, etc.
