I have just update my Monoprice Maker Select v2 with a ramps 1.4 board and Repetier firmware. I have everything all set except for the extruder calibration. Even after running through tests and adjusting the steps per mm, the model I print comes out 25% as tall as it should be. Width and length of the model are exact

Hey!

How did you adjust your steps per mm? Is it through firmware and what iterative process did you use to calibrate? You can use a basic formula to determine the steps per mm.

For X and Y:

X/Y Steps per mm200Motor Steps Per Rev16Driver Microstep2Belt Pitch20Pulley number of teeth 80Steps/mm(Motor steps x microsteps) / (belt pitch x pulley # of teeth)

This is a generally what X and Y will be.

For Z:

It is a little different. You need to find what kind of screw you have and what the pitch is. Example below:

Z steps per mm 200motor steps per rev16driver microstep8thread pitch (mm) 400steps/mm(motor steps x microsteps) / (pitch)This is for a standard 4 start 8mm leadscrew.

If all else fails and you dislike math (many do I get it!!!) You can do this by trial and error:

You have your old steps, you desired distance to travel, and your actual traveled distance (measured calibration cube distance)

(Old steps x (Distance want / Distance actual) )

Hope this helps you fix you Z height!

There is another thing, make sure you scale is all set to 1. If not that will probably be your issue!!!

Best of Luck!!!
