Hi

The extruder on my CTC D4476 (I think that’s the model) seems to randomly go out to the end of the X axis during a print. It wants to go out further than possible which means the carriage hits the belt spindle. This throws out the positioning of the extruder so when it returns to the centre to print it’s in the wrong place = another failed print.

Is there anything I can do about this? I’ve seen a few confusing posts on the subject which often seem to require more knowledge, and jargon, than I have!

I’ve looked at changing firmware but I’m a bit nervous as I’m not 100% sure the machine will be compatible…

Any help please?! It’s quite soul destroying to be printing for several hours only to have this happen, and my collection of half printed items is getting huge!

I’ve investigated further into the problem - when I manually move the axis I can in theory move it up to 210 mm. The gantry/X axis is only 200mm wide which is the cause of this problem. I think I just need to know how to reset the X axis parameters, but have no idea how to do this. Would love some pointers?
