Hello to everyone, so here’s my problem. My extruder motor doesn’t look like it wants to work. Here’s what happens. So I just bought my printer used. Da Vinci 1.0. Replaced the hotend with an e3d. Then I flashed repetier onto it. Everything was great. So I go to load the filament and it loads fine. Extruder heats up.the motor feeds the filament through. Done. Then I go to print and the printer says there is no filament. So I turned off that sensor. But now when it goes to print I notice the feeder runs backward for a split second and then one of two things happens the gears move so slow it’s not effective or they don’t move at all. I have noticed some clicking noises from time to time but not always. So I know that the motor works, so my gut says it’s a setting somewhere. Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like maybe a conflict of settings. How did you turn off the filament sensor. Is there any other ways to turn off that sensor. I haven’t upgraded to an E3D extruder yet but I am running repetier.

When I upgraded my printer to a E3D V6 I had the same clicking issue. What fixed it for me was going into the EEPROM settings and print setting in repetier and changing retraction distance to something between 0.5 and 2mm. That should fix your problem!

I recently upgraded to the new designed xyz printer head and had a similar problem with it not extruding properly at first. I fiddled with the retract settings. To get it to work. I’ve also tested the stock wiring harness and it had an intermittent short that bending the wire would cause. I’ve since rebuilt the wiring adding some play in the wires to hopefully reduce the binding in the wiring. The connectors on the motors are 6pin jst pH 2.0 connectors and the mother board end are 4 pin. Some of the motors are 7 pin connects with 6 wires. Check before you order connectors. Digikey was where I ordered them from took 3 days to get them.

It was under “maintenance” or settings I think on the actual printer hub. There were two sensors to turn off filament sensor and the sensor that tells you that the top needs to be closed. I turned off both.

I’ll try that asap. And get back to yall! Thanks guys!
