Just wondering if anyone has had some success (or even tried) with some of the more exotic filaments out there. Things like Nylon, HIPS, Woodfill, Ninjaflex…you get the idea. I’ve found that printing anything of a decent size with ABS is a pain… Just trying to decide whether to invest in some fancy stuff.

Some one posted a success print using brass and copper infill over at M3D forum. He had to use cura to send the gcode

There’s a Colorfabb thread here which might be worth keeping an eye on: Talk Manufacturing | Hubs

@PilgrimsDT should be able to show us some prints, real soon, right?

still waiting on the filaments to arrive… it has been many days since ordered. Maybe I just got spoiled with amazon prime…

I have had success printing with Polycarbonate (@282 C temperature!), Nylon (mixed results due to humidity, need to buy a desiccator) and PETG. A list with the materials I and other contributors have used, with their working settings, is here.

Flex TPU was a failure, though I believe modding the drive wheel with a shim should work. I’m procrastinating on that.

I have some HIPS filament that I will try soon.

All the “exotic” materials were printed using Cura and customized settings - none of them worked worth the mention using the M3D software.
