We’re very excited to announce 3Dom USA’s Entwined Hemp Filament! This is the first commercially available eco-friendly hemp filament in the world. It’s made using Mantoba, Canada-grown industrial hemp fibers and will print on any 3D printer capable of printing with PLA.

As you can see in the photos of objects made from the hemp 3D printing filament, Entwined does not contain any artificial dyes and has remained its natural golden-brown color. It’s almost iridescent in its ability to showcase different shades and densities within the same printed object. There’s a large amount of visible bio-fill, something you don’t get with standard PLA.

Each 1kg spool of filament, which is available in either 1.75mm diameter, or 2.85mm diameter, retails for $59 and will be shipped from 3Dom USA’s local production facility in Fargo, North Dakota. The filament itself comes wound around the 100% bio-based Eco-Spool.

We’re very excited about this launch and hope you are too!

What’s the big benefit of Hemp Filament? Does it increase strength?

I was actually waiting for this !

So happy my wish finaly came true

Any way to get samples ? For … testing purpose and writing article you know.

I’m thinking it’s probably decorative, like woodfill.

We have seen a small increase in flexibility but are still waiting to get mechanical test results back to confirm.

There’s definitely that too, plus a bit of “cool” factor

Any discounts for 3D Hub members?

What percentage hemp is in the filament? It doesn’t seem to be that much?
