Hello, I’m looking into my first endeavor into 3D printing and wanted to ask for some advice/suggestions. I am really wanting/leaning for a budget SLA resin printer kit like the Peopley Moai ($1300), for the resolution of the prints and this price point …this is doable with a little saving. But I am thinking maybe I should start with an FDM budget kit like the TEVO Tornado DIY 3D Printer ($350), FDM might be the way to go to get started now, get the experience with 3D printing calibrations, modeling and tuning more affordability, and to really gauge if I use the 3D printer as much as I “think” I will. Or is SLA an entirely different daemon in that if SLA is what I want, then I should start there? Or would you advice just to blow the $350, on a FDM , see if I like it and go from there. My hesitation is that once I go SLA, the FDM will become a big paper weight. I consider my self software and tech capable so I consider building and trouble shooting part of the fun and experience. … I plan on using these printers mainly to print components for my other hobbies, RC hobbies…planes/drones FPV, shooting sports, miniature painting, house hold DIY items …nick nacks for the kids ect. What route should I take?
