Hey guys!

If anyone has any empty FormLabs cartridges they’re not planning on doing anything with, I’d really appreciate if you sent them to me! I’m using them to load 3rd part resins into the printer without having to deal with the hassle of loading resin directly into the tray.

I’ll pay for shipping costs, obviously. Thank you!

Hello Enza,

Where do you purchase these 3d party resins from, and what are your experiences with them. Is it equally good as the resin from Formlabs?

Very curious to here your if it matches the results.

Hi i ll be happy to send you one cartridge after its dont but you may have to wait for some time because i just received my machine.

but can you please let me know the 3rd party brand your using because we tried makerjuce and the results were not so good

Photocentric 3D! If you head over to the FormLab forums, you can see some posts about it and pictures of prints done using it. I’ve heard mixed things about Makerjuice, what color did you try?

I am in UK and it’s exciting for me to know that the Photocentric resin works well on the Formlabs. I have just a Form 1+ and a LC10, but I visited the Photocentric and they were actually testing their UV resin on the Formlabs among others. The water washable, experience I had with the LC10, it makes life more complicated for me, because you need running hot water, which I don’t have close to the workbench. The problems I had with surface finish, I hope hey are just related to the lo energy curing of the LC10 than the resin composition itself. I believe they are releasing soon a low shrinkage epoxy based resin for UV too (there is one for Daylight resin). This, when it comes out, will be a very good deal, in particular here where shipping is cheaper *_* Talking about compatible resins, FunToDo recently released a Form1 compatible resin which I was planning to try… anyone else considered it too?

Ah, for me the water’s easy because I have a sink in my work station for the Form 2. I could see that being a major pain if a sink wasn’t nearby. And yes, they just got a Form 2 and are testing most of their UV resins out on it in the coming weeks.

Shipping is killing me with them! It’s more expensive than the resins themselves!

I’d never heard of FunToDo, I’ll have to look into it. Thank you for the feedback!

Hi there!

Right now I’m focusing on Photocentric3D’s UV resins. I’ve seen some great results with them on the FormLabs forum, the only issue for me is they’re not sold in the US yet. But that’s changing in July. They’re one of the more expensive 3rd party options but have a lot of color variety and offer 3 different kinds of resin (flexible, firm and hard). They’re also water washable, which is my real selling point on them.

I plan on experimenting with several brands of third party resins in the future (Makerjuice, Spota, Madesolid, etc.). I’ll definitely keep everyone here posted, as well as on Form’s forums, to how it’s going.

Hey Enza3D,

How do you make it work? If I put 3rd party resin into the cartridge it doesn’t work it says the cartridge is empty?!

Thank you for your reply!

Hey there!

Since the most recent firmware update, it hasn’t been working anymore! It’s rather frustrating, and I have a feeling it’s because each cartridge has an ID associated with it, so once it’s identified as empty there’s not much to be done.
