Hi I am very new to 3D printing. I am currently designing a EPOS system and need to house a tablet and small box of electronics in a case that is robust and able to be cleaned. What material would be best for this? Most of what I have read so far seems to be for intricate models etc. This 'terminal will be a fairly basic box with holes for the sockets within to be accessible. Many thanks for any ideas and assistance.

Hey Neil,

depending on the final size of this case, I would suggest @ColorFabb’s XT or even XTCF20 (carbon fibre filled XT) with less warp for a larger flat surface. This material should resist being cleaned by hand with reasonably hot water and is also more durable than PLA for instance.

Sincerely,

Jonas

It depends on the size of your print. if it’s small then PLA or ABS are good to use. But If your Print has is big and has a large surface area touching the bed then use PLA because it dose not warp as much as ABS. But this just depends on the resources you have available. Hope this helps. But I am new to 3D printing too so I’m telling you what I have learned from research that I have done.

Thanks Jonas. I will have a look at those. I’m grateful for the reply.
