I use to maintain my good old Replicator 2 on which the heated block is insulated with ceramic tape.

Here comes a simple question: do you think it is worth insulating the E3D-v6? Will it prevent heated block to warm the printed part?

I insulate mine! I used to wrap the bottoms of the heater blocks as well, but I only wrap the side with insulating material now. As I have had the insulating material come loose on bottom befor and cause issues with printing. Hope this helps.
