So i unboxed set up hit home all print bed kept banging into frame which they noted may happen just turn off the power so i did. leveled everything and tried to print something, same issue…tested the switch manually (y axis home) clicked it while in motion…nothing happened. My first printer just looking for some assistance

You need a new limit switch buddy! With out it, the motor can’t stop and just grinds on the frame making a grindy noise that scares my bird lol! Wanhao USA automatically sends you parts for free, so should all other resellers. Otherwise it’s $1 on eBay.

It could be the switch, a broken wire or the terminal header on the main board is loose. A few things to check.

Sounds like a dodgy limit, take the one off the x axis plug into y and test again. if works its obviously limit. Simple 2 step limit should be able 2 get one at Maplin or Amazon next day if on Prime.
The same thing happened to me when I unboxed mine! I fixed it by leveling the bed higher than the part it was hitting in the back. It also helped to completely take off the thumbscrews and springs and re-level the bed from scratch. Make sure that the screws and bed clear the frame when you push the bed back, because for me the thumbscews were hitting the frame. Hoped this helped!
