I just modded my Seemecnc Rostock Max V3 to have the dual extrusion setup and I’m having a few issues. So I am able to get the first layer done no issue but once the printer has to switch filament problems arise. My first problem is that the printer will just stop entirely in the middle of the print after the two filaments switch. My second issue is that on the rare occasion where the printer begins printing again after a failed switch it will jet off to the side for no apparent reason. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the software, trying out different slicers and trying different settings on the slicers but I haven’t had any luck. If you guys have any ideas as to how to fix this I would be very grateful.

That’s odd. I havent yet set this up on my Rostock, but I have set it up on an identical machine that uses a mega and RAMPS board instead of the RAMBO. I’ll have to get back to you with the firmware I used on it. Have you tried printing a single filament print with it? I.E. print a part with just one filament, to make sure it still works after the firmware was changed?

Did you ever get an answer to your problem? I’m having the EXACT same issue. Printer stops on the first layer just after backing up EXT1 and loading EXT2.
