I’m thinking of upgrading to a dual hotend. I’ve looked at wiring diagrams for ramps 1.4, and can see that the hotend nr 2 is to be plugged into the D9 port. This is the port I today use for the layer fan.

Where does the layer fan plug into when this port will be used for the hotend?

Basically, you’re right there is no place for the fan after you have dual extruders. So you have to use the aux or an additional extension board.
