My FlashForge Dreamer came from the factory with a different power supply than the one pictured in the online Manual (current as of Aug, 2015).

The switch for the voltage setting in positioned in such a way that it is impossible to read the numbers printed on that switch - thus rendering it impossible to correctly position that switch for operation in the United States, where I live.

Without a clear diagram and a clear view of the numbers printed on that switch, it is impossible for me or any other user to safely start up their FlashForge Dreamer printer.

Can you please answer the following 2 questions?

1) Does the FlashForge Dreamer come from the factory with its “default” voltage set to 230 volts?

2) How can I clearly see the voltage printed on the power supply switch?

3) Does the raised portion of that switch “reveal” the proper voltage number that is printed on it - or should you move the raised portion of the switch toward the number that is printed (like selecting that number by positioning the raised portion of the switch to cover that number)?

Thank You for your help,

Psmith

The reason I am asking what may appear to be “silly” questions is that my printer also came with no printed Manual - so I had to rely on an online Manual which I had to find via “Google” search. It may not even be the most current version available.

I am happy to report that Tang, Amazon’s support technician, made everything right - by emailing me the photos from the latest Manual showing, quite accurately, the proper position of the voltage switch for 115 volt printing - as well as attaching the latest Manual .pdf file to the same email. He also checked my Dreamer serial number to make sure I received the latest version of the Dreamer.

Everything from that point on has worked flawlessly - incredibly simply - just as advertised.

I am now running the PLA test print file found on the SD card - and I have never yet seen a print so accurately rendered and printed.

I am stunned and gratified, immensely.

Thank you FlashForge and Thank You, Tang

I just got my brand new Dreamer, started going through the setup. I can’t find a switch of any kind on the power supply. I unbolted it so I could see every side easily…no switch visible. Manufacture’s label say switching power supply. Emailed Tang and Websites technical support. No response from Tang yet. websites technical support responded asking for serial number how I purchased and purchase id number, so they could direct me to appropriate tech support person which I guessing is Tang. btw anyone know whether Tang is male or female so I use the correct pronoun, don’t wish to offend.

Do you receive any answer from Flashforge support? Mine doesn’t have any switch either. Don’t know what the default voltage setting is. I’m from europe

I did get a reply. New machines are using a switching power supply, which means you just plug it in, no worries. But would suggest that people verify first, just in case, before plugging in…

thank you for your answer.

I don’t understand why it is so hard to put a manual instruction in the delivery package.
