Hi,

I have Flash Forge Creator Pro, The printer is one year old. The machine is a bit noisy then it when was new. I have some questions about maintenance of the bearings. Do I have to oil these? See the pictures bellow.
I oil the rods once a month but the bearings I never oil them, do they also need some oil over time?

Thank you,

Mark

Hi @markpot the problem with oiling bearings is that it can make them more susceptible to gathering dust/particles, which can then cause further problems down the line. If possible, it’s probably better to look at replacing the bearings with linear bearings. There’s a good guide here on Hubs:

and a quick search on Google will find a load more guides…

Yes. When the rods are dry and have a ring of material on them, us machine oil on them and the bearings. The filament leaves particles; especially ABS.

That should also be in the instructions, for taking “care” of your bot.

Regards

I use a silicone grease that I apply with a microfiber cloth

Some teflon will do

Thank you for the answers, My question was more about the pulley bearings of the belts do they need some oil too?
