Hi,
I want to control the distance between the nozzle and etch layer. there are any one know a slicing software can do that?

Hi,
I use Cura.
Kind Regards,
Myrza

Hi Myrza.

Thanks a lot for your responce.
I tested Cura, but I didn’t find the option that I’m looking for.
Can you explain to me how can I modify the distance between the nozzle and the printed layer.
sincerely yours

distance between layers are not controlled by the slicer

its controlled by the firmware.

the firmware needs to rotate/step the motors the correct amount so that Z is moved the correct amount when slicer ask for example 1mm

if you have a 10mm drill bit or an 8mm smooth rod you have some good testing tools

move the nozzle up from the bed so the smooth rod or drill bit can just rool under the nozzle… you now know that the nozzle is precise 8 or 10 mm over the bed. of course the nozzle needs to be clean of any filament… heat it to arround 80 degrees so filament becomes soft and remove any filament on the outside

now ask the printer to move the nozzle 8 or 10 mm down… if it crashes to the bed your firmware is not correct

Hi Odense3DPrint

thank you very much for your answer and explanations.
