We are considering adding a delta type printer in our test lab. Has anyone had positive results using flexible filament in a delta type printer?

The only things to watch out for are a direct drive extruder and what filament diameter the printer is using.
Direct drive extruders are better as there tube between hotend and extruder is shorter and the filament can’t be compressed that easily.
3mm filament (2,85mm) is better then 1,75mm for printing flexible filament, it’s stronger and the chance of it flipping to the side on the extruder is less likely.

Hi Marius,
Thank you for the advice. If you were purchasing a 1.75 mm machine and wanted to use a flexible filament what machine would you recommend?
Cheers,
Bob
The Altair 3 Pro delta printer by PrintSpace 3D is sweet. It does flexible filaments. It probably won’t print fine details like small words in flexible filament as well as a direct drive would, but it will print it fine and it has great capabilities as far as being able to print a lot of different materials at a decent size.
