HI, we meet a problem with our printer. (Delta WASP on 2040 turbo)
At the time of the manual leveling, the extrudeur comes to position wich is too low and knocks on the print plate even if the plate is in the lowest position!
The problem seems to be the origin position in Z of the extrudeur.
What are the good values of regulations factories and how to repair this problem?
Thank you very much

Joël D

Hi,

Try to discover if it’s a stepper problem, in order to do that, click “auto home” and then “move axis” “1mm” “z axis” and manualy check if the extruder go down 400 stepps.

Hi Joel, manual leveling must be setted on 1 mm between nozzle and bed. Check wasp site personalfab.it - This website is for sale! - 3d print Resources and Information..

Thanks for the quick answer; i’ll check that asap and i’ll let you know if it worked !

Hi Alessandro, unfortunately i can’t even set the space between the nozzle and bed since even at the beds lowest position there is 0 space in between; which makes manual leveling impossible. Any ideas ? some kind of “factory reset/ settings” we could align on in case we messed up changing values somehow ?

Thanks but i did already check that. Manual leveling is impossible since the bed at it lowest point is still so much in contact with the nozzle we can’t even fit a paper sheet in between. Might be some problem with the initial position of the nozzle ?

Hi, before start a Manual Leveling procedure be sure that your machine is at Home position.

Hi, i always start the manual leveling at “auto-home” position, still doesnt work

cpt

?

(Edit) Oh yeah i got it, i’ll try it tomorrow, seems like a way out. Cause our printer display “Z445.00”. I’ll let you know !

Check under glass bed if there is something or undere steel bed. Do you set the three controllers in the delta’s sides ?

Yes make sure your Z Height is set to 442. Or restore the machine to its default settings. Sometimes people accidentally alter/tweak certain “advanced settings.”

make a “autohome” on the display you will see the measure of Z as 441 or 442 then go to “prepare-height change” and decreases the value z. then go to “advanced” and click “save in EEPROM”

Hi ,we change the Z value to 442,it is better, but now we got an other problem, the 0 point during the bedleveling opération,is

lower than the other 3 points (1.2.3).

Is it a problem of bad values of radius and diagonal rod.We got for radius 175.6 and for diagonal rod 294.

do not touch diagonal and radius. Take a sheet of A4 paper and adjusts the three 1,2,3 points outside so that the foil does not touch. then controls the center point 0. it could be that the point 0 is lowest. No problem print a file and see if it works.

Ok for the manuel leveling with a sheet of paper, and the center point being the lowest still. But i still want to know if the values are correct and if not what are those ? Because i’m pretty sure we did alter them by mistake in “advanced settings.” (especially the Radius one)

So, we checked today, 442 is the right value but we still can find the “restore default settings” in the printers menu. Where is it ?

Thanks to all, for your precious help. Problem solved , it was an unfortunate values changes in “advanced settings”

beside your messages i also received a mail from WASP Support which could turn out usefull for people having the same trouble :

"to change the distance between the extruder and the point zero, you have to decrease the ,zero, value changing

radius: 175,1

diagonal rod: 294,5

practically i change by 0.5mm the two values,i remove 0.5mm from radius and i increase the diagonal rod value with the same value (0.5)

Usualy you can start from 0.3mm and reach 1.0mm like maximum value to find the right leveling values .

After you change the radius and diagonal rod values you have to store memory(advanced-store memory)"

After testing, turns out our values are :

Z Max : 442

Radius : 174.6

Diagonal Rod : 295.0

Thanks again to you all ! Let’s Print !
