Fired up my Qidi Tech 1 after about 4 months, and the print head won’t move at all. No sounds like it’s attempting to move either. Nozzles warm up fine, filament comes out fine, plate warms up. But no movement of the head.

I am assuming that it doesn’t do anything when you try a “home” or “bed level” from the control panel on the printer?

Can you move it by hand? Is it free to move that way?

I can move it by hand fairly easily, but I can’t use the motors to move it. Jog only works in the Z axis (bed), not the X and Y axes. When I try to move the X/Y axes, I just hear a slight click (from what sounds like the nozzles. Unplugging the cables to the left nozzle removes the click. No idea if that is relevant). Home and bed level don’t move it either.

I took off the underside panel and re-seated every connection I could find. Still the same problem.

That is odd. I would suggest taking a video or two and getting a hold of QIDI. They are extremely helpful with issues.

Also, if you didn’t already, re-seat the stepper drivers on the board.

Thanks. I’ll re-seat those stepper drivers. I hadn’t thought about that. I’ll reach out to QIDI.

It’s a long shot but i am out of ideas!
