My DaVinci Junior 1.0 is making a loud grinding sound whenever the bed plate rapidly moves. Im concerned I will need to replace something. Does anyone know why this would he happening and what I may need to fix? Here is the YouTube link for the Noise: - YouTube

Victoria,

is very hard to say whats wrong but before all other:

clean guidance shafts with paper.

move X & Y by hand while cleaning.

if 3D spray is on them, this gives xtra friction. Clean with alcohol.

lubricate X & Y with fine machine oil. Move X & Y manualy.

try new test print.

let me know if this helped.

May be a few things first check the plate covering the heater core “Sometimes it likes to get loose” if that is not the problem open her up with a t10 bit and check that there is lube on the guide rods if there is none use some litheum grease. And last would be check the stepper motor if that is the thing that is making the noise. Use a tube run it under the white cover and set it next to servo. Listen to the tube to see if the sound is louder in that spot. If it is your servo most likely has a gear that is cracked. If that is the problem you would need to replace it find the s/n on the motor and google it for a new one. If it is within 90 days of purchase then call up xyz for the new part
