Hi guys,
I have been using the DaVinci Junior for about April 12th of this year. I’ve managed to get a few really great things printed – and one or two busts, but I accept that you can’t win every time. However, a few days ago, my printer started making a pretty bad grinding noise, and it got me worried. I quit the job that I was on and cleaned the nozzle with the provided thin metal rod, using the on-board cleaning programme where it heats up. I started up another print job, this time a very small thing, and it managed to print about a quarter of it, then stopped producing the filament.
I quit the job again, and once again went through the nozzle cleaning procedure. Then I detached the black box, unloaded my filament and followed the extruder cleaning procedure with the wire brush and reattached my filament, etc. etc. Basically, I followed the instructions as I should.
However, now the filament is stopped about half way down the white tube that draws it from it’s spool, into the extruder. The jobs queue up fine, but then the extruder tries to print it with the the filament up there, and once again, nothing comes out of the nozzle.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, hopefully I’m missing something super simple.
Clean the Drive Gears. The grinding noise is the drive gears on the left hand side. Also I fixed my grinding noise by changing Z-Axis and cleaning drive gears.
Cleaning the drive gear is one thing but you can also try printing a small oiler, putting a tissue inside and dropping a few drops of regular oil found in your kitchen. This will make the flow of filament much smoother.
