Hi All,

I have some question about da Vinci Pro, I know this printer allows user to use any filament, how about the slicer? Can it read G-code?

If it can read G-code, is that means I can use Cura export a G-code file, and use that G-code file to let printer work? Thank you

I can’t say for sure but I have seen threads about slicing and saving the gcode directly to the SD card on the printer in place of a test piece.

Of course the XYZ Ware is perfectly good and is nothing more than a prettier version of Repetier so you’ll get perfectly good gcode out of it.

I currently use a Da Vinci Pro 3-in-1 (almost identical to the Pro), and it can definitely read G-code.

The problem is whether or not the slicer software can communicate with the Da Vinci Printer (or whether the Da Vinci printer will let you communicate with it without making some adjustments).

For instance, I have emailed back and forth with Simplify3D and we have put together a profile that works with my Pro 3-in-1. They were very helpful, we just emailed back and forth and did some testing connecting and I was up and running.

I have also tried to create G-Code in S3D, then open the G-Code is XYZPro. It does open it, and display the proper tool paths. But when I go to run it, the software bugs out and shuts down. Maybe another slicer might work with it.

Bottom line, I would email whatever software slicer company you want to use with your DaVinci Pro and see if they support it. If not, are they willing to help you get it working.

Good Luck!

Sorry to revive this old thread, but can you upload your profile? Thanks.
