So I just got my Hands on the Da Vinci Jr and I would like to know how can I bypass or trick the filaments RFID chip. Now I have seen people do it with the normal Da Vinci but the chips are not the same. I do not want to be restricted to XYZ filaments only and I have a 2 year warranty that I really don’t want to void if I flash the system.
Have you seen the davinci interlock bypass techniques work recently? There were some techniques to reflash the chips in the cartridges in the early days, but they stopped working. Even with such techniques, the control over the machine was minimal, making them useless for many materials. With prices of 3D printers falling I see no reason to even mess with these over-hyped walled-garden brands.
Hi Bxizzy143, I have the DaVinci 1.0, and I heard this is possible to do by resetting the firmware back to v1.0.0. This firmware version did not have the filament counter. Since your machine is newer, they may have included the counter in the 1st firmware version, but it may be worth looking into.
You have the normal one I have the jr I think it’s different. Also I’m having issues finding 3d prints online. I’ll look into how to reset it back to the out of box 1.0 version
I’ll look into that. If anything I’ll remove the updates and run it off SD card to prevent it from updating.
Have you found how to trick the rfid on the JR ?
