Hi there.
I bought my first 3d printer which is CTC Dual with black case to test my patience.
Actually i was surprised it hasnt any loose nuts in the box :stuck_out_tongue:
But the point is i cant proceed with calibration correctly, when it goes to first point, nozzle is 1-2mm ahead of the plate. So im calibrating only with 4 points instead of 5. When i go with printing from SD card, it goes with that first “test line” on the edge of plate, and this line is printed in air. I left it for 1,5h to see if it prints, and quality isnt bad after all if we consider lack of leveling.
But can somebody tell me what could be wrong? The limiter or plate could be mounted wrong? Limiter of Y axis looks nice (i cant move it).
Also where i can find binaries for replicator or maybe other software to drive it through pc. Official links of replicator looks broken, links on ctc webpage looks broken too, and i cant read sdhc card cuz of sd reader compatibility issue.

Mine does the same after I switched print head. Is your print head original?

download and try pronterface to run 3d printer lot of tutorials available or i am charging tech support $45/hour in most cases your problem will not take more then hour to resolve

Actually it felt weird when i was mounting head, it didnt want to slide in spot i needed to force it a little with nuts. But things get a little better after i disassembled right platform rod and assembled it again. Now it prints first line in air just half of x axis, rest is on platform. But i see that there is a lot of loose rods like those on platform about 0.5mm on right. Ill try to print new mountings for them.

Pronterface cant connect over usb. But i found replicator with sailfish.

Hi,

same printer and same problem

i think the cause might be the y axis switch not being in the right position

by looking at pictures of other printers I think the two screws on the left of the printer supporting the switch should be aligned while in my case they are not
